Portrait Michael Cannon Keith Sheahan serves as lead consultant for Facilities Management Support and Construction Administration for all Environments at ARCH Consultants, Ltd. Mr. Sheahan possesses diversified knowledge of construction practices. He also has extensive experience overseeing the architectural design process, as well as coordinating changes to project design and specifications.

Prior to joining ARCH, Mr. Sheahan served as a senior project architect at Epstein Architecture, responsible for the planning, control, and integration of all architectural activities and the development of project deliverables. His experience covered a variety of project types including high-rise residential buildings, convention/exhibition centers, and facility renovations for public sector clients.

During his tenure at Epstein, Mr. Sheahan led several projects at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital Campus in Hines, Illinois. Mr. Sheahan assisted with campus space utilization, gathering square footages for user-friendly, detailed categorization and analysis for the hospital’s various departments. He also served as project architect for the renovation of several buildings on campus including the main hospital lobby renovation and expansion.

Mr. Sheahan served on the architectural team for an $882 million addition to the McCormick Place Convention Center, which was one of the largest LEED-NC projects in the United States. With this addition McCormick Place retained its position as the largest publicly operated exhibition facility in the country.

Other projects Mr. Sheahan has worked on range from educational facilities to office buildings to historic restorations. He served as project manager responsible for the design to completion of various Chicago public schools including Van Vlissingen Elementary, Brentano Math & Science Academy, and Dunbar Vocational Career Academy. His experience includes extensive documentation of existing building conditions and written assessments with recommendations for integrating new technologies within the existing infrastructure of historical schools.

Education

Mr. Sheahan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural History/Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and his Masters of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
