Augsburg Ribbon Cutting

This fall, ARCH celebrated a ribbon cutting at The Village at Augsburg. The completed project included defining a main entrance for the community, refurbishing the corridors, expanding the café with bistro into an adjoining store, and expanding the fitness center into the health suite. The project was completed under budget with the guidance of ARCH as Owner’s Representative.

LeadingAge Annual Meeting Wrap-Up

ARCH was excited to be back in-person at the LeadingAge Annual meeting in Atlanta. Brit Vipham presented a roundtable discussion on the importance of incorporating diversity in design decisions. As a mentor for the LeadingAge NextGen group she also spoke to students interested in the field of aging.

Glenmere Project Receives Award

The Glenmere Project received an Award of Merit in the 2021 ENR MidAtlantic Best Project Awards. The Glenmere Expansion project at The Village at Rockville, a National Lutheran Communities & Services community in Rockville, Maryland, included approximately 130 Independent Living units in a mix of one- and two-bedroom configurations.

ARCH Education at LifeSpan

ARCH’s Brit Vipham presented at the LifeSpan Annual Meeting on development best practices, using our current repositioning project at Broadmead, Inc. as a case study. The LifeSpan Network is the largest senior care provider association in the Mid-Atlantic, representing more than 250 senior care provider organizations in Maryland and the District of Columbia. The conference keeps provider organizations and professionals involved in senior care informed of the latest legislation and trends in senior care.

Richfield Roanoke Healthcare Completion

Richfield Living recently completed a new healthcare building in Roanoke, VA to complement their existing campus in Salem, VA. The new design is the household model of care with 116 private resident rooms and adjacent public spaces. ARCH provided construction monitoring services including easy to follow monthly reporting and progress photos.

ARCH Presents at LeadingAge Ohio

Brit Vipham presented at the LeadingAge Ohio annual meeting on the impact of the pandemic on seniors and our approach to strategic planning, design factors to consider to keep social interaction up, and safe construction practices to reinforce. This was ARCH’s first in-person conference since the pandemic and was great to be back with colleagues. 

Ziegler Senior Living Investor Workshop

Frank Muraca participated in Ziegler’s senior living investor workshop sharing issues the construction industry is facing with answers and responses to consider for their future development projects. LeadingAge Maryland Webinar

LeadingAge Maryland hosted a webinar led by Frank Muraca with The Village at Rockville, a National Lutheran Communities & Services community, used as a case study with the campus Executive Director, Kyle Hreben, and Construction Manager, Jeff Boehm co-presenting.  Audience members walked away from the webinar with an understanding of development best practices, lessons learned in constructing during a pandemic and operational considerations when opening a new building on an existing campus. 

LeadingAge Illinois Presentations

ARCH’s Frank Muraca, Brit Vipham, Keith Sheahan presented at the LeadingAge IL virtual annual meeting. The team spoke on the importance of capital expenditures planning and modular housing design in senior living. Provider organization’s decisions on capital expenditures impact both short and long-term campus plans. Initial planning efforts for capital expenses can mitigate the risk of unexpected budget overruns and shape future building project plans.  

LeadingAge Maryland Education Session

Frank Muraca presented at the LeadingAge Maryland/Leading DC annual meeting on “Renovations to Respond to COVID-19 Operations”. Key discussion topics were short-term initiatives that will not break an Owner’s bank, practical solutions that can have a positive impact on residents/staff and future design and construction trends limiting the spread of the corona virus.
